Installation
1. Plan and Measure:
- Mark out where your fence panels will be placed, ensuring that the total length is correct.
- Drive stakes into the ground at each corner, and run a string line between them to act as a guide for alignment.
- Mark the position of the posts based on the width of the panels (2.4m between post centers).
2. Dig Post Holes:
- Dig holes for the posts at each marked location.
- The holes should be approximately 600-900mm deep and about three times the width of the post for stability.
3. Set the Posts:
- Insert the posts into the holes and ensure they are aligned with the string line.
- Use a level to make sure each post is straight.
- Fill the hole with concrete, making sure to slant the top of the concrete to direct water away from the post.
- Allow the concrete to cure as per the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 24-48 hours).
4. Attach the Panels:
- Once the posts are set, attach the fence panels to the posts using brackets or clamps.
- Make sure the panels are level and adjust accordingly before tightening the screws.
- Depending on the type of fence, you may have to drill holes into the posts to secure the brackets.
5. Check Alignment and Finish:
- Double-check the alignment of the panels and posts using a level.
- Tighten all screws and make sure everything is securely in place.
6. Secure the Gates (if applicable):
- If your fence includes a gate, install the gate posts following the same steps as the panel posts but ensuring proper spacing for the gate.
- Attach the gate with hinges and check that it opens and closes smoothly.
